Overview

Blackpool and The Fylde College (B&FC) is seeking a skilled and proactive IT Infrastructure Engineer (Transformation) to join our IT Services team on a fixed term basis. This pivotal role focuses on delivering planned change, supporting project delivery, and resolving escalated infrastructure incidents while ensuring exceptional service quality across the College.

Your Responsibilities

  • Deliver planned changes, transformation activities, and project-related infrastructure work within agreed timeframes and scopes.
  • Provide timely, effective troubleshooting, diagnostics, and resolution of escalated infrastructure incidents, problems, and service requests.
  • Ensure adherence to SLAs and KPIs, escalating or intervening where required to maintain service excellence.
  • Maintain up‐to‐date and accurate technical documentation, asset records, and change management information.
  • Monitor and manage the infrastructure environment proactively using automated tools, ensuring patch compliance, vulnerability remediation, and strong security practices.
  • Act as an escalation point for junior colleagues and contribute your expertise to IT projects and operational reporting.
  • Identify and recommend continuous improvements based on industry best practice and emerging standards.
