Job Description
As a Waste Operative (Recycling Assistant), you will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day operation of a busy Household Waste Recycling Centre (HWRC). Working as part of a professional team, your duties will include:
What you'll be doing;
- To provide an effective and efficient recycling service to the residents in the reception of municipal refuse and recycling based at our two of our sites in Newbury Household Waste Recycling Centre
- To assist members of the public at the household recycling centre with waste and recycling disposal
- Operating the weighbridge system and plant
- To ensure that the facility is left in a clean condition and any spillages are cleaned up before leaving the area
- To assist with other parts of the operation as and when required What we're looking for;
What we’re looking for;
- Previous experience within a similar customer facing operational environment
- Manual handling experience
This role includes manual handling and working outside in all weather conditions

Requirements:
- Safety boots
- Previous experience in waste management, recycling, labouring, customer service, or outdoor work is advantageous but not essential
- Reliable and punctual
- Strong work ethic and positive attitude
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Good communication skills
- Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
