We are urgently recruiting HGV Class 2 Dustcart Drivers in Southwark for a well-established waste management contract, offering up to £20.00 per hour (inclusive of holiday pay). This is a great opportunity for experienced refuse drivers looking for steady, well paid local work.

As an HGV Class 2 Dustcart Driver (Refuse Driver), you will be responsible for completing waste collection routes across Southwark, working alongside a team of loaders to ensure efficient and safe operations. This is a hands-on driving role requiring previous dustcart experience, strong awareness of health & safety, and the ability to work within a fast-paced waste collection environment.

Key responsibilities:
  • Driving a Class 2 dustcart vehicle on scheduled routes
  • Leading and working with a team of refuse loaders
  • Completing residential and commercial waste collections
  • Carrying out vehicle checks and defect reporting
  • Ensuring compliance with waste regulations and safety standards
  • Assisting with collections where required
  • Completing all relevant paperwork and route documentation
Pay & Benefits:
  • £18.20 per hour + holiday pay
  • £20.00 per hour (inclusive of holiday pay)

Shift Patterns:
  • Start times: 03:00 or 10:00
  • Average 7.5 - 8 hour shifts

Requirements:
  • Valid HGV Class 2 Licence (Category C)
  • CPC (Driver Certificate of Professional Competence)
  • Digital Tachograph Card
  • Previous dustcart / refuse driving experience (ESSENTIAL)
  • Good knowledge of UK driving and safety regulations
  • Reliable, punctual, and team oriented
