We\’re looking for a motivated, hands-on Boatyard Operative to join our existing friendly crew in a stunning riverside location — helping to launch, move, and look after boats in one of the most scenic spots in Devon
If you\’re confident driving tractors or large plant and want a job that\’s varied, outdoors, active, and rewarding, this is your perfect opportunity.
What You\’ll Be Doing
- Launching and recovering boats to and from the water
- Operating yard machinery – tractors, hydraulic trailers, forklifts, and hoists
- Pressure washing and setting up boats for storage
- Towing, collecting, and delivering boats around the River Dart
- Supporting the team with pontoon and plant maintenance
- Helping to keep the site and grounds tidy and safe
- Providing great service and a warm welcome to customers
What We\’re Looking For
- Experience operating tractors, forklifts, telehandlers, or similar large machinery
- A good practical mindset and willingness to learn new skills
- Team player with a positive, \”can-do\” attitude
- Confident around boats or keen to learn about them
- RYA Powerboat Level II preferred (training can be supported)
- Full driving licence with own transport
- Happy working outdoors in all weathers
- Able to swim at least 100m
- Willing to work some weekends (we operate a shared rota April–September)
