Your Role
The Stock & Cost Manager sits at the intersection of Finance, Operations and Procurement, and is responsible for the management and maintenance of Blacklock's core operational and stock systems across the group. The role ensures that what happens in our restaurants is accurately reflected in our systems - and that our data can be relied upon to support commercial decision‑making. The role centres on ownership of Procure Wizard, hands‑on support to restaurant teams on stock processes, and the maintenance of our EPOS and wider operational systems. You will ensure our systems are accurate, well‑structured and consistently maintained, enabling strong stock control, reliable reporting and smooth day‑to‑day operations. The role reports directly to the Finance Director.
Your Responsibilities (in a Nutshell)
- Procure Wizard
- Own and manage Procure Wizard as our central purchasing and stock system
- Keep all data accurate and well‑structured — from supplier products and pricing to recipes and invoices
- Ensure menus, product lists and stock sheets are always up to date
- Work with Procurement and Ops to resolve supplier issues (delivery discrepancies, missing items, credit notes)
- Partner with Finance to make sure invoice data is clean and ready for payment
- Stock Support
- Support Head Chefs and Bar Managers to deliver consistent, accurate stock processes
- Provide clear reporting ahead of stock takes so teams can resolve issues early
- Investigate stock variances and get to the root cause
- Spot recurring issues (recipes, products, suppliers) and help fix them properly
- Train and support teams to build confidence and consistency across sites
- Keep on top of stock warnings in Procure Wizard, making sure nothing slips
- EPOS
- Manage and maintain EPOS across all sites — items, pricing, categories and configurations
- Make sure each site’s till setup reflects its menu and service style
- Maintain integrations between EPOS, Procure Wizard and QSR systems
- Support menu changes and launches, ensuring everything is set up correctly
- Oversee system structure and user access, supporting day‑to‑day site needs
- Wider Systems
- Support allergen systems, keeping data accurate and compliant
- Provide ad‑hoc support across other operational systems when needed
What We’re Looking For
- Experience in stock management, purchasing systems or operational data (hospitality or retail is a big plus)
- Confidence using EPOS and stock systems — Procure Wizard experience is a bonus, not a must
- Comfortable managing system backends and solving problems when things don’t quite line up
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to analyse data and spot patterns
- A practical, solution‑focused mindset — someone who fixes, not flags
- Clear communicator, able to train and support teams on the ground
- Experience working with suppliers, system providers or IT teams
- A genuine interest in food and drink
Your Benefits & Welfare
- A Blacklock experience for two to celebrate passing your probation
- 50% off food across all our restaurants (for up to 4 people)
- 33 days’ holiday, including Bank Holidays
- A paid volunteering day each year to support a cause you care about
- Cycle to Work & Tech schemes
- ‘Extras’ discounts across a range of retailers
- Cost price chops and wine
- 12 weeks’ paid maternity & adoption leave, plus 2 weeks’ paid paternity leave
- 2 days’ paid “paw‑ternity” leave for your new puppy
- Anniversary rewards at 1, 3, 5, 7 and 10 years — including a weekend away and a fully paid sabbatical for major milestones
- Free mortgage advice
- Hardship loan scheme
- Access to face‑to‑face counselling, legal advice and hardship grants via our Employee Assistance Programme
- Company sick pay
- Compassionate leave
- Learning & Development contribution
- And last but not least — proper team celebrations, including Blackstock, our annual company festival
