Lead C# / .NET Software Engineer, SaaS, hands-on engineering role with proven ability to mentor, provide technical leadership, and develop a team. Full stack but mainly backend focused. Cloud skills required (ideally AWS, but Azure fine). Home-based role with salary around Β£75,000 β Β£80,000 + benefits.
This role requires a strong understanding and commercial experience of engineering architecture, design patterns and principles. The client is a software product company building an innovative SaaS product. They are looking for a hands-on Lead Software Engineer with strong C#/ .NET technical skills and proven tech leadership experience to coach, mentor, and collaborate with the team. Working with Product Owners, Project Managers and fellow Lead Software Engineers, you will further develop the product using agile methodologies and focus on scalability, robustness and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Hands-on coding using C# / .NET experience.
- Full stack development but mainly backend focused (C# backend, React front end).
- Work at Lead level within the team.
- Responsible for the fortnightly technical output.
- Collaborating with Product Owners on tactical delivery.
- Drive Agile practices across the team.
- Mentoring, coaching, training, conflict resolution, and related leadership activities.
Experience Required
- Excellent hands-on knowledge of C# / .NET.
- Strong engineering architecture, design patterns and principles.
- Proven experience designing and developing microservices and distributed systems.
- Commercial experience with Cloud technologies (AWS or Azure).
- Team development skills β mentoring, coaching, getting the best from colleagues.
- Strong knowledge of working in an Agile environment.
- Previous experience working at a Lead level.
