WE’RE HIRING – TEMPORARY SIA DOOR SUPERVISORS
Location: Newport Town Centre
Pay Rate: £14.00 per hour
Contract: 20th November 2026 – 2nd January 2027
Christmas Day & New Year’s Day OFF!
We are looking for professional, reliable and approachable SIA-licensed door supervisors to join our team for the busy festive period in Newport Town Centre.
This role is based in a family-friendly environment, where providing excellent customer service, maintaining public safety and creating a welcoming atmosphere are essential.
We are looking for individuals who can confidently manage challenging situations while remaining calm, professional and approachable at all times.
- Must hold a valid SIA Door Supervisor Licence.
- Must be able to communicate in English to an excellent standard, both verbally and in writing.
- Have excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Be confident in managing conflict and dealing with challenging situations calmly and professionally.
- Demonstrate effective conflict resolution and de-escalation skills.
- Be friendly, approachable and comfortable interacting with families and members of the public.
- Must be willing and able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including cold and wet winter weather.
- Be reliable, punctual and flexible with working hours.
- Be able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Have a good understanding of safeguarding and public safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensuring the safety and wellbeing of visitors, families and staff.
- Providing a friendly, welcoming and professional security presence.
- Managing queues, crowd movement and visitor access where required.
- Identifying potential conflicts and resolving situations before they escape?
- Responding appropriately to incidents and emergencies.
- Maintaining clear communication with colleagues, management and members of the public.
- Carrying out outdoor security duties throughout the shift.
Hours will vary depending on operational requirements.
Applicants must be willing to work within the following hours:
- Weekend and evening availability is essential.
- Shifts will be allocated according to operational requirements.
This is primarily an outdoor position, and applicants must be prepared to work in winter weather conditions.
Staff welfare facilities will be provided to support employees throughout their shifts.
