As an Engineering Manager, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the technical strategy and leading the evolution of our Data Platform team. You will lead a team of talented data engineers, fostering their growth while driving innovation and excellence in a data-driven, collaborative environment.
YOUR CHALLENGE
- Technical Strategy and Product Evolution: Oversee the technical vision for the data platform in alignment with our data strategy. Lead the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of the Data Warehouse architecture, ensuring scalability, reliability, and efficiency. Collaborate with data analytics and data science teams to understand their needs and integrate their feedback into the data platform strategy. Advocate for data-driven decision-making throughout the organization and ensure that data platforms and tools support these initiatives.
- Craftsmanship and Delivery: Lead initiatives to implement and refine data governance, data quality, and data security practices within the data platform. Stay abreast of emerging trends in data engineering, big data technologies, and cloud data solutions to continually enhance the data platform. Set and maintain high standards for development practices, code quality, and delivery excellence. Lead and mentor a team of Data Engineers and Analytics Engineers fostering a culture of craftsmanship, attention to detail, and continuous improvement.
- People Leadership and Development: Build and lead a high-performing team, providing guidance, mentorship, and professional development opportunities. Set clear goals and expectations for team members, fostering a collaborative and supportive environment. Conduct regular performance reviews, providing constructive feedback, recognizing achievements, and identifying opportunities for growth. Champion a culture of continuous learning and personal development, encouraging knowledge-sharing and fostering innovation within the team.
- Delivery and Operational Excellence: Guide the team in setting and achieving clear goals, ensuring high-quality feature development and system reliability. Implement efficient workflows and agile methodologies, fostering a culture of continuous improvement. Make decisive and informed decisions, balancing quality, timelines, and business requirements.
- Leadership and Team Development: Build, mentor, and inspire a high-performing engineering team, guiding them to solve problems proactively and collaboratively. Encourage professional growth, providing constructive feedback and development opportunities for team members. Address challenges within the team confidently, including handling difficult situations and making tough decisions when necessary. ABOUT YOU
- Proven experience as an Engineering Manager, ideally with previous hands-on software engineering experience and a background as a data engineer.
- Experience managing and growing teams in fast-paced, dynamic environments.
- Deep understanding of auction systems, marketplaces, or ride-hailing platforms, with a focus on driving tailored and attractive offers.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, ensuring alignment across cross-functional teams and active engagement in decision-making.
- Decisive and confident in handling complex situations.
- Passionate about fostering team growth, with a proven track record of mentoring and supporting individual development.
