Black Kite is an independent creative studio offering world-class visual effects and design. We are a talent-first, technology-inspired studio. Our community is home to a collective of top-tier talent, including artists, creators, designers, producers, and technologists who have come together to make exceptional artistic visual content.
We are looking for freelance Studio Runners who are interested in temporary / ad hoc shifts with us over the coming months. This is an ideal opportunity for those who are studying or working part-time and are looking to kick start their career in Post-Production or Visual Effects. This is not a permanent / full-time role as there isn’t one available currently; however, this could change in time. You must have the right to work in the UK and be available to work from the Studio, based in Shoreditch.
As a Runner at Black Kite, you will be a key member of our support team, helping to ensure the smooth running of the studio. This is a great opportunity to gain experience across all our departments and can provide a route into other roles within the studio.
RESPONSIBILITIES- Providing a 5-star hospitality service for our clients within the studio.
- Being an approachable and enthusiastic point of call for both clients and colleagues.
- Setting up the studio in the morning & ensuring the suites/offices are ready for the busy day ahead/clearing and prepping in the evening – Dependent on the shift pattern.
- Taking initiative to keep track of stocks and supplies, liaising with FOH to ensure orders are placed when necessary.
- Ensuring refreshments, stationery and essentials are well stocked throughout the day.
- External runs, couriers, mail and deliveries.
- Responsible for ensuring the kitchen, suites and open plan areas are clean, tidy and well presented at all times.
- Handling petty cash & reconciling daily.
- Supporting the studio team with ad hoc duties.
- Previous runner (in studio/on-set) or hospitality experience.
- Proactive and able to work unsupervised and thrive in a busy, fast-paced environment.
- An enthusiastic, quick thinker who is able to use their initiative.
- A 'can do' attitude with the ability to juggle multiple tasks, completing them efficiently and to a high standard.
- Willingness to learn and flexible attitude.
