As a CG Artist at Black Kite, you are responsible for delivering creative excellence from pitch through to delivery. You will be working across a wide variety of high-end VFX projects. You will create the look of computer-generated objects and scenes and will be responsible for asset creation, layout, lighting, shading/look-development, rendering, and some compositing. You will also have the opportunity to apply your broader CG generalist skills on projects to create outstanding VFX work!
Responsibilities:- Carry out a range of generalist tasks along the CG pipeline, across a range of high-end VFX projects.
- Build and support light rigs and shading setups.
- Develop shot and render passes as needed in collaboration with other artists and leads.
- Manage render scenes, light rigs, and production assets.
- Model, texture, and look-development of CG assets to be used across shots and sequences.
- Troubleshoot your assets, scenes, renders, and the pipeline as necessary.
- Technically and creatively promote and maintain consistent shot quality and desired look.
- Work effectively with other 3D and Compositing artists in a creative, collaborative team.
- Use all of your wider generalist skills to deliver projects that look visually outstanding on time and on budget.
- Inspire a culture of creative innovation.
- You have demonstrable experience creating high-quality VFX work across commercials, TV, or film.
- You have a thorough understanding of techniques and technologies related to lighting, rendering and look development, asset creation, and scene assembly.
- You have experience using Houdini and Maya.
- You have experience using production quality renderers, including Arnold and Mantra or Karma.
- You have and are keen to use your wider generalist skills.
- You have a critical eye and a can-do problem-solving attitude.
- You have a keen eye for quality control and visual style.
- You are an excellent communicator.
- You are an excellent team player.
- You have good working knowledge of Nuke for creating pre-comps.
- You always strive to produce outstanding visual results.
