Overview
This role is being offered on a temporary/casual basis for a period of 6 months.
What You’ll Be Doing
The Analyst will be responsible for evaluating and processing transactions or activities flagged by automated systems for potential risk, fraud, or compliance concerns. You will exercise sound judgment and adhere to established guidelines to ensure accurate decision-making, protect company assets, and maintain a positive customer experience.
Responsibilities
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform detailed manual reviews of transactions, orders, or cases that require human analysis
- Verify customer and payment information using internal and external data sources
- Identify and investigate suspicious patterns or anomalies, escalating cases as appropriate
- Document decisions with accuracy, clarity, and compliance with company standards
- Work collaboratively with Operations, Product, Enterprise Risk, Compliance, and other stakeholders to develop automated controls to detect anomalous behavior for onward investigation
- Provide insights and feedback to enhance detection rules, workflows, and risk strategies by generating reports on fraud trends and investigation outcomes
- Maintain compliance with all applicable regulatory, data protection, and confidentiality requirements
- Achieve productivity, quality, and accuracy targets as defined
- Be tenacious in approach with well-developed problem-solving skills, capable of interpreting complex data to identify actionable insights and communicate them effectively
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
- Finance, Risk Management, or related field preferred; equivalent work experience considered
- Excellent analytic, problem-solving skills and multitask abilities
- Ability to handle multiple projects/tasks simultaneously and work independently
- Detail oriented
- Great customer service ethics and professionalism
- 1–2 years of experience in fraud detection, risk operations, e-commerce, or back-office transaction review preferred
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
- Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills with the ability to assess risk effectively
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in documentation and decision-making
- Proficiency in using multiple systems, databases, and online resources concurrently
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment
