We are seeking an experienced Skilled Halal Butcher to join the professional team of one of our reputed sponsoring clients. The successful candidate will demonstrate advanced butchery skills, a deep understanding of halal processing requirements, and the ability to maintain the highest hygiene and safety standards.
You will be responsible for:
- Cutting, trimming, boning, and preparing a range of meats (beef, lamb, goat, and poultry) to customer specifications.
- Ensuring all products are processed in accordance with Islamic halal standards and UK food safety legislation.
- Managing stock rotation and ensuring full traceability of meat products.
- Maintaining cleanliness, hygiene, and food safety at all times.
- Providing excellent service to retail and wholesale customers.
- Training or assisting junior staff when required.
To qualify for the role, you must meet the following minimum requirements:
- Eligibility to live and work in the UK.
- Minimum 3 years professional butchery experience in a halal-certified environment.
- Skilled in carcass breakdown, boning, portioning, and trimming across various meats.
- In-depth understanding of halal slaughter and certification processes.
- Food Hygiene Level 2 (or higher) certification.
- Good English communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team.
- Relevant Health & Safety credentials and knowledge of HACCP and UK food compliance.
- Resident within commutable distance of up to one hour.
