We’re looking for an ambitious Senior / Executive Business Development Manager in the Scotland area who brings energy, ownership, and a genuine passion for building relationships. This is a role for someone who enjoys opening new doors, growing existing partnerships, and delivering real commercial impact.

What you’ll be doing

  • You’ll take full ownership of your territory — driving growth by:
    • Winning new adviser firms and establishing Blackfinch as a trusted partner
    • Expanding relationships within existing firms — increasing engagement, product use, and value
    • Protecting and strengthening partnerships through consistent, high-quality service

This is a role where activity matters, but impact matters more. Every conversation, meeting, and interaction should move relationships forward.

What makes this role different

  • You’re not just selling — you’re building long‑term partnerships
  • You’ll represent a broad, high-quality product range across tax and asset management
  • You’ll have the autonomy to run your territory like a business
  • You’ll be part of a team that values collaboration, energy, and continuous improvement

This role is as much about attitude and behaviours as it is about experience. We’re looking for someone who is:

  • Proactive and driven – you don’t wait for opportunities, you create them
  • Commercially sharp – you understand what drives growth and act on it
  • Relationship‑led – you build trust quickly and maintain it over time
  • Disciplined and organised – you manage your time, pipeline, and data effectively
  • Resilient and consistent – you deliver, even when it’s challenging
  • Curious and thoughtful – you seek to understand advisers and add real value

Your experience

  • Proven success in business development within financial services (tax planning / asset management preferred)
  • Strong track record of hitting and exceeding targets
  • Experience building both new and existing adviser relationships
  • Confidence engaging with larger firms and senior stakeholders

Essential Qualifications & Requirements

  • A qualification level knowledge of IHT, EIS, VCT and CMS and the tax impacts of each.
  • Either holds or is currently working towards or willing to work towards Chartered status in Financial Services or equivalent.

We reserve the right to close the vacancy early, should we receive sufficient applications. Blackfinch is an equal opportunities employer that values diversity and welcomes applications from all suitably qualified persons regardless of their ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, age, disability, religious practice or any other perceived differences.
