The Senior Graphic Designer plays a pivotal role in maintaining and protecting the brand code across all executions. Working with stakeholders around the business, you will champion best practice in creating a consistent experience of Blackfinch irrespective of origination, both internally and externally. You will conceptualise and create diverse visual assets (digital ads, web, print, social) that align with brand strategy, collaborating with marketers to drive campaigns, mentoring juniors, and ensuring visual consistency across all channels, blending strong visual skills with digital marketing understanding for commercial impact. You will maintain a high standard of service to the business, responding in a timely and accurate fashion to design requests.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver best in class brand executions across all channels, using a deep understanding of commercial and brand objectives to create effective share of voice and return on investment. This covers a wide range of format types from image, video, document and animation design.
  • Develop the wider team learning and development around brand/campaign work to continue to raise the bar in all that we do, bringing outside-thinking into the business. Support junior designers, offering guidance and helping to elevate the team's creative output.
  • Own the brand guidelines and provide commercial recommendations for creative brand strategy, remaining committed to evolving and adapting to stay competitive in the markets we operate in. This includes maintaining an eye on the brand efforts of our competition to ensure we achieve cut-through in our executions and acting as an expert for our brand's look and feel.
  • Contribute to creative direction, bringing fresh ideas, and staying updated on design trends.
  • Monitor the spend and commerciality of external resources. Where appropriate, recommend training and development resources to upskill the internal team.
  • Monitor the workflow of design requests for efficiency and quality. Ensure the team are actively engaging with requests and improving their learning all the time, and act as the senior internal sounding board for quality checking before reissuing back to stakeholders. Have a keen eye for detail to maintain the high standards we ask of our brand.
  • Take a proactive approach to seeking out analysis and feedback on marketing performance and iteratively working to make our brand executions perform as best as possible.

  • Adobe Creative Cloud: InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Adobe Suite, Premiere Pro
  • AI video software – for example Heygen
  • Hubspot
  • Web CMS for UX/UI – for example Strapi, Wix, Webflow

Skills & Experience

  • Minimum 5 years' experience creating marketing assets in different formats, for example webinars, brochures, emails, factsheets, sales aids, client planning scenarios, video interviews, product explainer animations.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing digital, branding, and campaign work.
  • Understanding of digital marketing, user experience (UX), and consumer psychology.
  • Ability to balance creativity with commercial objectives and brand guidelines.
  • Deep understanding of financial services marketing and regulatory frameworks of financial promotions.
  • Proven track record of generating and maintaining product marketing assets that have effective results.
  • Be comfortable working in a busy team, where multiple projects and priorities are running concurrently.
  • Be a fantastic communicator, managing stakeholder expectations and keeping everyone up to speed on progress, challenges or opportunities.
  • Be able to engage the wider team on ideation and innovation.

Essential Qualifications & Requirements
