We are seeking a Senior Process Engineer to play a key role in the design and delivery of manufacturing process facilities and clean utility systems for high-profile projects ranging from clinical trial operations through to large-scale commercial manufacturing.
Working as part of a multidisciplinary engineering team, you will take ownership of process engineering activities from concept design through to detailed design and construction support. This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong engineer who enjoys managing complex projects while collaborating with clients, internal teams, and external design partners.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the process engineering design of manufacturing facilities and supporting utility systems.
- Produce Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), Material & Energy Balances, and Process & Utility P&IDs.
- Estimate utility requirements and design utility generation and distribution systems.
- Develop equipment specifications, datasheets, calculations, and technical documentation.
- Support facility expansion, improvement, and automation studies.
- Provide technical leadership and process engineering expertise throughout project lifecycles.
- Coordinate workloads and project delivery across international teams and external partners.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships and contribute to successful project outcomes.
About You
- Degree qualified in Chemical or Biochemical Engineering (Bachelor's or Master's level).
- 10+ years of process engineering design experience within the pharmaceutical industry.
- Experience in process design and operations within pharmaceutical, life sciences, or food manufacturing environments.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, clean utilities, and facility design.
- Knowledge of cGMP and relevant industry regulations.
- Chartered Engineer status, or actively working towards chartership.
- Excellent project management, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Must have the right to work in the UK. Sponsorship is not available for this position.
