Location is UK-Wide (London, Manchester, Birmingham, Newcastle, Glasgow, Cardiff and Bristol)

We are a specialist recruitment agency partnering with a leading UK consultancy delivering complex, high-value data centre and mission-critical infrastructure projects across the UK and Europe.

Due to continued growth and an exciting pipeline of hyperscale, colocation, and bespoke data centre projects, we are seeking experienced Senior Engineers – either Electrical or Mechanical – to join their expanding team.

This is a fantastic opportunity to take a senior technical lead role working on cutting-edge data centres for major clients across multiple markets.

We welcome applications from both Senior Mechanical Engineers and Senior Electrical Engineers with solid experience in designing and coordinating building services for data centres, particularly in hyperscale, colocation, or similar mission-critical environments.

You will be part of a multidisciplinary team delivering robust, energy-efficient, and resilient systems from initial design through to commissioning across the UK and European markets.

For Electrical Engineers:

  • Lead electrical system design for hyperscale and colocation data centre projects across the UK and Europe
  • Develop LV/MV/HV designs including UPS, switchgear, generators, and standby power systems
  • Produce single-line diagrams, load calculations, and technical specifications
  • Collaborate closely with mechanical and BMS teams to ensure seamless integration

For Mechanical Engineers:

  • Lead mechanical design of HVAC and cooling systems (chilled water, DX, CRAC/CRAH units) for data centres in the UK and Europe
  • Create layouts, calculations, and equipment schedules aligned with hyperscale and colocation requirements
  • Work closely with electrical engineers to deliver fully coordinated MEP solutions

For Both Roles:

  • Manage client and stakeholder engagement throughout the project lifecycle
  • Ensure compliance with UK and international standards (BS, IEC, ASHRAE, CIBSE, NFPA)
  • Support construction, commissioning, and handover phases on projects across the UK and Europe
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers, promoting best practice and technical excellence

Requirements

  • Degree-qualified in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (or Building Services)
  • Minimum 7+ years’ relevant experience, with at least 2 years on hyperscale, colocation, or data centre projects
  • Strong core discipline expertise with awareness of multidisciplinary coordination
  • Proficiency with design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, Amtech, Hevacomp, ETAP, IES, or similar
  • Knowledge of UK and European codes and standards
  • Chartered status or working towards it is preferred
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills

What’s on Offer

  • Lead delivery on high-profile data centre projects across the UK and Europe
  • Competitive salary and benefits package
  • Hybrid working arrangements
  • Salary is competitive + excellent benefits
  • Professional development and support for chartership
  • Collaborative, innovative, and supportive consultancy environment

Whether your expertise is in electrical or mechanical engineering, if you have experience working on hyperscale and colocation data centres or missions critical projects across the UK and Europe, we want to hear from you.
