Senior Development Chemist

Job Description

Blackfield Associates is supporting a leading consumer goods organisation in the recruitment of an exciting R&D opportunity based at their facility in Kent.

This role offers the chance to work across a diverse product portfolio spanning medical devices, oral care and personal care, partnering with cross-functional and external teams to deliver post-launch product and process changes. You will take end-to-end ownership of change projects.

Key focus areas include:

• Leading post-launch change projects from scope through to plant transfer
• Developing and executing V&V plans, authoring protocols and reports
• Supporting design-to-manufacturing transfer and supplier onboarding
• Collaborating closely with Manufacturing, Quality, Regulatory and Supply Chain
• Managing and developing Development Chemists

Candidate requirements:

• Master’s degree (or equivalent) in a scientific discipline (or a Bachelor’s with strong experience)
• 3+ years’ experience in healthcare or personal care product development, including post-launch change
• Familiarity with EU Cosmetics Regulation EC 1223/2009 and ISO 22716 (GMP)
• Excellent communication skills and a proactive, organised approach
• Exposure to MDR/ISO 13485 and design transfer is advantageous
