Blackfield Associates is proud to be partnering with a leading manufacturer within the pharmaceutical, food, and beverage sectors to recruit a Quality Assurance Officer, initially on a 12-month FTC basis but with a view to becoming a permanent employee.
Opportunity
In this position, you will play a key role in maintaining and improving the organisation’s Quality Management System (QMS). You’ll be involved in:
- Batch release activities
- Deviation investigations
- Change control
- Root cause analysis
- Internal audits
- Continuous improvement projects
All aligned with GMP, BRC standards, and relevant regulatory expectations. Responsibilities include:
- Ensuring products are fit for purpose prior to release
- Managing and progressing QMS elements including deviations, CAPA, and change controls
- Authoring, reviewing, and approving controlled documents
- Conducting and supporting internal, external, and customer audits
- Performing root cause analysis using problem-solving tools such as Fishbone and 5 Whys
- Supporting GMP training, HACCP maintenance, validation processes, and supplier qualification
- Reviewing batch manufacturing records, packaging records, and testing results to verify compliance
- Liaising with QC teams to confirm analytical testing outcomes and support batch release
- Participating in continuous improvement and remediation initiatives
Experience & Qualifications
- Degree in Chemistry, Biology, Food Science, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or related discipline
- 2–5 years of QA experience within pharmaceutical or food manufacturing
- Strong understanding of GMP and QMS processes
- Experience with regulatory inspections (e.g., FDA, EMA, MHRA, EFSA) beneficial
