Blackfield Associates are supporting a leading consumer goods organisation in the search for a Plant Quality Manager based in Folkestone. This is a senior quality leadership role offering responsibility for Quality Control, batch release and Quality Assurance across the Folkestone plants, with a clear remit to drive continuous improvement, team development and cross functional collaboration.
Key responsibilities
- Lead Quality Control, microbiology and packaging inspection activities and ensure efficient laboratory operation in support of production, including batch review and release via SAP.
- Lead investigations into non conformances and deviations, determine root cause and implement effective CAPAs, and support investigations into complaints and recalls.
- Make in process quality decisions and manage batch disposition to protect product quality and regulatory compliance.
- Lead and support internal and external audits and regulatory inspections, maintain and author SOPs and training, and ensure robust document control.
- Drive continuous improvement and embed a strong quality culture through cross functional collaboration, team development, workable shift patterns and alignment with global quality strategy.
The correct candidate will be degree qualified in chemistry or a relevant scientific discipline with extensive experience in quality roles within a regulated manufacturing environment, including proven team leadership in Quality Control and or Quality Assurance. They will have a strong working knowledge of ISO 13485 and ISO 22716, along with practical experience of quality tools such as root cause analysis, CAPA and FMEA. They will be self motivated, highly organised and able to plan ahead, prioritise competing demands and work to deadlines, with excellent communication and influencing skills, the ability to lead cross functional teams, develop others and deliver practical solutions that mitigate business risk. SAP experience is advantageous.
