We are partnered with an immuno-oncology focused biotech in Oxford seeking to hire a Senior Scientist with expertise in Cancer Immunology. This role requires a PhD in a relevant field. Prior industry experience is highly desirable and familiarity with bioinformatics is a plus.

Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to a collaborative, high-standard research environment with strong focus on reproducibility, data integrity, and regulatory compliance.
  • Support translational research strategy and help shape scientific direction within a small, multidisciplinary discovery team.
  • Design and optimise experimental models, including 2D and organoid systems.
  • Develop and refine macrophage culture, maturation, and functional activation assays.
  • Establish co-culture systems and cell-based assays to assess immune cell activity and cytokine responses.
  • Troubleshoot experimental challenges and ensure robust, high-quality data generation for drug discovery programmes.
  • Analyse, interpret, and communicate experimental findings to guide project progression.

Requirements:

  • Extensive experience handling and isolating human immune cells from primary samples.
  • Strong experience in immune cell culture, expansion, and functional immunology assays.
  • Expertise in macrophage biology, including differentiation and maturation studies.
  • Hands-on experience with flow cytometry, immune phenotyping, and cytotoxicity assays.
  • Ability to design and execute robust cellular immunology assays.
