Blackfield Associates are partnering with a long standing client in their search for an AVEVA PI Engineer. Develop and maintain site Aveva PI data historian systems to support data reporting and making data readily available in near real-time. Integrate legacy site process control systems and manufacturing equipment into the PI System. Assist PI users in retrieving data from manufacturing systems (e.g. DeltaV) and support development of PI Vision displays. Support the site in development of data contextualization models to fit the needs of the business.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the principal SME and System Administrator working to deploy and maintain the site PI systems.
  • Manage maintenance activities on the site PI systems ensuring system health, integrity, and availability.
  • Ensure the system is maintained in a validated state, following site procedures.
  • Work closely with the wider Automation Team and Manufacturing Teams to improve data availability and contextualization.
  • Manage definition of project scopes, identifying best solutions and developing data acquisition strategies using the most appropriate/optimal technologies.

Skills required

  • In-depth knowledge and experience (>5 years) configuring and administering Aveva PI Historian systems.
  • Deep understanding and practical experience of data integration solution in a manufacturing setting.
  • Proficient in implementing effective data contextualization and presentation solutions for process/shop-floor data to meet the needs of various business personas.
  • Sound knowledge of industry standard control systems such as DCS and PLCs (preference is for knowledge of DeltaV and Siemens process control solutions).
  • Knowledge of batch process and the implementation of the ISA S-88 standard.
  • Working knowledge of software maintenance in a regulated environment (preference for work experience with GMP, GAMP in a biopharmaceutical or pharmaceutical environment).
  • Ability to perform administrative tasks in automation systems (E.g., DeltaV, PI, Infobatch).
