In 2026, 62.9% of students in year 11 achieved five or more GCSE 9-4 grades, including at least a 4 in English and a 4 in Mathematics. Progress was also strong. At A level in 2025/2026, 38.5% of grades were at A*-B. Similarly, high levels were achieved in Level 3 BTEC qualifications.

experience or knowledge of teaching:

Applicants who can teach across wider Performing ArtsSubjects and Physical Education will also be considered.
This is an opportunity to join a vibrant and enthusiastic department with a range of specialist teachers. Drama, along with Dance, are offered as separate KS3 Subjects in Years 7-9 and taught three times fortnight throughout the year. We also offer separate courses at KS4 in GCSE Drama (Eduqas) and GCSE Dance (AQA). At KS5 we offer A-Level Drama and A level Dance. We also offer a vast extra-curricular programme, including lunchtime Drama club, Performing Arts showcases and Whole School Musicals.
We are extremely lucky to have a State-of-the-Art Performance Space with a specialised Technical control room, two drama studios and a separate dance studio with mirrors and a sprung floor. The ideal candidate will have the experience of improving student outcomes.
The successful candidate will be required to undertake a Disclosure and Barring Check.

Blackfen school is an 11-18 non-selective school in the London Borough of Bexley. The school has 1350 students and around 330 of those are in our thriving mixed sixth form.
