The Role
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Pre-Commissioning Water Treatment / Flushing Engineer to join a growing team working across a range of major construction and engineering projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for the pre-commissioning, cleaning, flushing and water treatment of mechanical and HVAC systems, ensuring all works are completed safely, efficiently and in line with project requirements and relevant BSRIA standards. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with hands-on experience in water treatment or mechanical flushing who is looking to develop their career within large-scale commercial, data centre, pharmaceutical, healthcare or industrial projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out pre-commission cleaning, flushing, chemical dosing and water treatment of mechanical and HVAC systems.
- Undertake both static and dynamic flushing of closed and open water systems, including CHW, LTHW, condenser and domestic water systems.
- Test and monitor system water quality, making appropriate chemical treatment adjustments where required.
- Complete on-site water testing, including pH, conductivity, iron, hardness and microbiological sampling.
- Work in accordance with BSRIA BG29, BG50, project specifications and relevant water treatment procedures.
- Operate flushing pumps, dosing equipment, side-stream filtration systems and associated plant.
- Identify and resolve issues relating to water quality, flushing performance and system cleanliness.
- Maintain accurate records and produce flushing certificates, test results and completion reports.
- Liaise closely with commissioning engineers, mechanical contractors, project managers and clients to ensure works remain on programme.
- Attend site and client meetings when required, providing technical advice and updates on water treatment activities.
- Ensure all works are carried out in accordance with HSE requirements, COSHH and site-specific safety procedures.
- Where required, provide guidance and support to junior engineers, technicians and subcontractors.
