Governments, banks and large organisations use Videris to tackle some of the most complex investigative challenges our society faces. We are looking for creative self-starters who love working with highly sophisticated and demanding customers to join our fast-paced, dynamic team. You will be working in a team of friendly, driven product and engineering professionals with a wide range of experience and interests.
Location: Hybrid role - You must be prepared to come into the office a minimum of once a week and when requested.
About the role: As a Software Engineer, you will play a key role in our engineering teams, bringing the product vision and features to life. You will be responsible for contributing insight and code to further improve the development of our SaaS platform, Videris, collaborating across teams in an agile operation. The ideal candidate will be a conscientious developer who has an appreciation for technical excellence, and an aptitude for identifying and implementing solutions that enhance both the product and the user experience. They will be a clear communicator and will have a background in delivering reliable and maintainable software with remote teams, within the software industry, as well as a proven track record of working across a variety of departments and with a desire to continue their own growth and development.
Responsibilities:
- Development: Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code using modern programming languages and frameworks (preferably C#, Angular, TypeScript). Write tests to ensure reliability of the system and debug issues. Participate in code reviews, pairing, and further improve capabilities and development best practices and work closely with others in Engineering. Contribute to test coverage, CI/CD pipelines, containerisation, and cloud infrastructure to ensure seamless delivery and deployment. Collaborate with product to understand the user experience and design and implement the right technical solution. Contribute to documentation and knowledge sharing.
- Architectural: Choose appropriate technologies and design patterns. Consider scalability, reliability and security that align with business objectives and can be managed and monitored within an operational environment. Keep abreast of emerging technologies and methodologies to improve our development processes and product capabilities.
- Company and Team Collaboration: Have an understanding of the commercial context of the work being undertaken. Work with colleagues across teams, ensuring alignment on goals and expectations. Bring your insights and experience to the company and shape it.
About you: You will be passionate about what you do, and keen to experience new ideas and to develop further, with a drive for innovation and performance. You are likely to have a Bachelor's degree. You may also have postgraduate technical qualifications or industry specific experience. A minimum 3 years' experience in a software development or related role. Broad experience of modern software delivery including cloud (e.g. AWS). Familiarity with common tools; Jira, Jenkins, Git, GitHub Actions, Grafana, Terraform, Kubernetes, Playwright. B2B software company experience. Specific experience in SQL, Postgres, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (AI & ML), and/or performance/scaling of SAAS products is a benefit.
