A well-established tax firm in London is seeking a UK/US Tax Director (Private Client Tax) to lead its UK/US expat tax team. You’ll take ownership of a portfolio of approximately 130 US and 160 UK returns, with responsibility for technical delivery and final sign-off. The role combines compliance with a strong advisory element, primarily on the US side - client conversations, cross-border planning, onboarding and scoping.

You’ll lead a dual-handling team of 8 (Senior Manager to Associate level), within a wider 26+ person UK tax and GMS team, alongside a large US sister firm. There’s a strong platform in place, with clear scope to grow and shape the offering - including building out the team. You’ll have a high degree of autonomy to do this as you see fit.

The client base includes US exposed cross-border private clients (HNW, athletes/entertainers), entrepreneurs and internationally expanding businesses, as well as global mobility programmes.

Requirements:

  • Strong UK/US private client tax experience
  • EA or CPA required
  • Currently operating at the experienced Senior Manager, Associate Director or Director level
  • Comfortable signing off UK & US tax returns
  • Strong client and advisory skills
  • Part-time (4 days/week) also possible.
  • Hybrid working near Liverpool Street, London.
