We are seeking an enthusiastic, skilled and passionate Qualified Teacher of the Deaf (ToD) to join our dedicated team. This is an exciting opportunity to make a significant difference to the lives of deaf and hearing‑impaired pupils who are fully included within mainstream classes across our school.
The Role:
- Lead on the educational provision for deaf pupils across the school.
- Ensure teaching strategies, classroom practice and curriculum delivery meet the needs of deaf learners.
- Provide specialist advice, guidance and training to staff.
- Monitor pupil progress and support the development of effective provision plans.
- Work closely with external agencies, including audiology and specialist support services.
- Support the use of assistive listening technologies and hearing equipment.
- Promote independence, inclusion and achievement for all deaf pupils.
- Contribute to annual reviews, EHCP processes and transition planning.
Teaching Assistants work closely with our deaf pupils to ensure they thrive academically, socially and emotionally.

- Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- Holds, or is working towards, the Mandatory Qualification for Teachers of Deaf Children and Young People (MQToD).
- Has a strong understanding of hearing impairment and inclusive educational practice.
- Has excellent communication, coaching and partnership‑working skills.
- Is passionate about ensuring every child achieves their full potential.
- Can inspire confidence in colleagues and support high‑quality classroom practice.
