Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council is a busy unitary authority in east Lancashire. Blackburn and Darwen are vibrant towns surrounded by beautiful countryside and within easy reach of Manchester, Leeds, Liverpool and Preston, the Yorkshire Dales and the Lake District. The Council has been a unitary authority for 25 years and has a multi-disciplinary Public Protection and Environmental Health Service, which is known for its can-do attitude and problem-solving approach to achieving compliance; it genuinely punches above its weight.

This rare and exciting opportunity is for a highly organised and enthusiastic individual to join our supportive and well-respected Consumer Protection team, which deals with all aspects of trading standards work for the Council. Our ideal candidate will be an experienced officer with an excellent knowledge of the full range of trading standards legislation, and practical experience in enforcing it. You will join four TS professionals and be part of the wider Public Protection and Environmental Health Service, which comprises TS, Environmental Health and Licensing Teams.
