We are currently recruiting for a Housing Development Manager to join the Council’s Strategic Housing Section to help lead and develop housing projects across the borough. The postholder will take the lead in ensuring the Council has a clear strategy for delivering new and affordable housing of all types and tenure to meet local aspiration and demand.
Key Role Specific Responsibilities- To lead the assessment of early-stage development opportunities to establish their viability, deliverability and potential impact/benefit, progressing the most promising to development.
- To lead the assessment of projects’ with internal and external partners to determine strategic and financial suitability.
- To lead in the negotiation of legal documentation, and produce reports for senior officers, executive members and project boards on progress and approvals.
- To work with private sector Developers and key Registered Providers to identify suitable housing development projects to form a pipeline of schemes.
- To assess the viability of pipeline projects on the basis of deliverability, affordability and value for money.
- To support the Head of Housing in overseeing the financial and operational performance of housing development projects and overseeing team members in monitoring activities.
- To support the communication of the Council’s strategy, approach and decisions to partner RPs, Developers, project sponsors, local communities, residents and stakeholders.
