Are you an experienced and passionate teacher with a commitment to improving outcomes for children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)? Do you have the expertise, confidence and enthusiasm to support inclusive practice across a range of early years settings?

We are seeking an outstanding Early Years SEND Advisory Teacher to join our Special Educational Needs and Disability Support Service. This is an exciting opportunity to work collaboratively with schools, early years providers, families and multi-agency professionals to ensure that children with SEND receive the support they need to thrive.

About the Role

As an Early Years SEND Advisory Teacher, you will play a key role in supporting settings to develop high-quality inclusive practice for children with a wide range of SEND. Through assessment, advice, training and professional guidance, you will help build the capacity of practitioners and settings to meet children's individual needs effectively.

You will undertake specialist assessments, provide practical recommendations and interventions, contribute to statutory assessment processes and deliver high-quality training to professionals across the sector.

Key Responsibilities

• Undertake assessments of children with a range of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities in early years settings.
• Provide ongoing advice, guidance and support to schools, early years providers and, where appropriate, parents and carers.
• Prepare detailed reports to support Education, Health and Care Needs Assessments (EHCNAs) and Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).
• Provide professional advice to the Local Authority regarding children with SEND, including statutory assessments and annual reviews.
• Support settings to develop inclusive practices and adapt learning environments to meet individual needs.
• Deliver and contribute to training, workshops and briefings for education professionals and parents.
• Maintain accurate records and reports in line with service procedures and professional standards.
• Keep up to date with local and national developments in SEND, inclusion and early years education.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues and partner agencies to support effective multi-disciplinary working.
• Support service improvement priorities and contribute to achieving departmental objectives.
