We are looking to recruit 2 x Centre Assistants, who are enthusiastic and self-motivated to join our team working across our network of 8 Children Centres and Family Hubs.

Working hours will be over 5 days, working a rota basis with colleagues doing earlier or late shifts, therefore applicants need to be able to work flexibly between 8am and 6pm.

Applicants will need to ensure that a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene are maintained throughout our centres. We are looking for people who can demonstrate experience of working in a cleaning role.

Ensuring that all areas of the centre are prepared for relevant use, which would include:

  • Cleaning and preparing our nursery settings
  • Cleaning and tidying office facilities
  • Setting up meeting rooms
  • Cleaning the community café

Applicants would need to complete a range of duties including:

  • Washing of walls, windows, partitions and woodwork
  • Cleaning all hard and soft floor surfaces
  • Cleaning of all surfaces, fixtures and fittings, bathrooms – all by appropriate methods within the designated area of work

The role includes undertaking some laundry duties.

This role also includes supporting with the Community Café catering facility and ensuring that catering requirements are met e.g. children’s meals and meeting refreshments.

Health and Safety and COSHH knowledge is desirable for this role.

We are looking for positive, reliable and flexible people with good communication skills, who can work as a member of a team and also independently to complete tasks.
