Responsibilities:
- A SEND Support Assistant plays a vital role in promoting the learning, inclusion, and wellbeing of identified pupils with special educational needs.
- The role involves supporting pupils to make academic and personal progress, encouraging positive play and interaction with peers, and fostering social skills, good manners, and healthy habits within a safe and nurturing environment.
Candidate profile:
- Be an enthusiastic person who enjoys working with children.
- Be able to work alongside teachers and other SSAs to develop English, Maths, and personal skills.
- Hold GCSE qualifications in English and Maths (Grade C or above).
- Have previous experience of working with SEND children in a school setting.
- Have initiative and experience of adapting resources for an individual pupil.
