As a Lecturer in English, you will play a key role in delivering engaging and inspiring GCSE English and Functional Skills lessons to learners aged 16-19. Working as part of a supportive curriculum team, you will contribute to the planning, delivery and continuous development of a high-quality learning experience that motivates students to achieve their potential.
This is an exciting opportunity to share your subject expertise, support student progress and help learners build the confidence and skills needed for their next steps. Alongside teaching, you will take responsibility for promoting excellent attendance, achievement and progression, while maintaining the administrative and pastoral aspects of your role.
What Are We Looking For?
We are looking for an enthusiastic and student-focused individual who is passionate about English and committed to delivering outstanding teaching and learning. You will be suitably qualified and have experience of teaching within a further education environment, with a strong understanding of the needs of young people aged 14-19.
You will be able to inspire, motivate and engage learners from a variety of backgrounds, creating an inclusive and positive learning environment where students can thrive. An awareness of current developments within English education and relevant professional or industry experience will enable you to bring your subject to life in the classroom.
The successful candidate will be highly organised, proactive and committed to raising standards and student achievement. You will also be confident in using a range of digital technologies and ICT systems, including Microsoft Office applications and student record systems, to support effective teaching, learning and communication.
