Blackburn & Co Ltd is an Essex-based metal fabrication company specialising in the manufacture and installation of mild steel metalwork, including staircases, handrails, balustrades, gates, railings and bespoke fabrications. We are currently looking for a reliable Driver / Labourer to join our site team on a full-time, permanent basis.

The Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for driving the company pick-up van to and from various sites, assisting with loading and unloading materials and equipment, and carrying out general labouring duties on site. You will work as part of an installation team carrying out a range of metalwork projects, including gates, fencing, staircases, walkways, handrails and other bespoke steel fabrications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Driving the company pick-up van to various sites
  • Loading and unloading materials, tools and equipment
  • Assisting site teams with installation works
  • Carrying out general labouring duties on site
  • Keeping work areas clean, tidy and safe
  • Supporting the team with day-to-day site requirements

The Candidate

The ideal candidate will:

  • Hold a valid CSCS card
  • Hold a full UK driving licence
  • Be reliable, punctual and hardworking
  • Be self-motivated and willing to work as part of a team
  • Have good communication skills
  • Be willing to assist with a variety of site-based tasks

Previous experience in construction, metalwork or site labouring would be beneficial, but not essential.
