Overview
We are looking for someone with previous accounting or practice experience to join our small team. This is an office based role and it is essential for you to be based in or close to East Lancashire.
Key responsibilities
- Bookkeeping for a portfolio of clients
- Providing payroll services to clients
- Preparing business accounts up to review stage
- Communicating with clients by email, phone or in person
- Communicating with HMRC by phone
- Participating in team meetings
- Ad hoc assistance with other tasks and general office duties as necessary
We are looking for
- AAT Level 3 or 4 or equivalent, or currently studying towards
- Proficiency in cloud bookkeeping software
- Proficiency in Office 365 β Outlook, Excel, Word
- A good understanding of accounting principles
- Some basic tax knowledge
- Ideally β relevant recent experience in the use of payroll software
- A good working knowledge of VAT (required for bookkeeping work)
- An interest in future tech development, with adaptability to learn new systems and processes
- Ability to manage workload and meet deadlines
- Good organisational skills
Working Hours and Salary
This role is open to part-time, full time or flexible hours β with a minimum requirement of 20 hours per week.
Salary negotiable from Β£25,000 (pro rata for part time), depending on previous experience.
