This Position reports to: UK Lifecycle Automation Sales Lead

Lead the growth of ABB’s Lifecycle Services business across assigned UK Oil & Gas accounts by driving automation control system modernization and service sales within the existing installed base. This role is accountable for delivering sustainable order growth, revenue, margin, and market share through execution of targeted sales strategies, proactive opportunity development, and strong customer engagement. Acting as a trusted partner to key accounts, the position plays a critical role in expanding ABB’s market presence while upholding the highest standards of safety, integrity, and compliance.

Your Role and Responsibilities

  • Implement the UK lifecycle services sales strategy across assigned accounts to achieve qualitative and quantitative sales targets.
  • Lead automation and modernization service sales within the Oil & Gas segment, executing segment-specific strategies to grow ABB’s installed base and market penetration.
  • Identify, develop, and convert service sales opportunities, including lead generation, risk assessment, and timely, accurate proposal submission.
  • Drive direct sales of ABB control systems and lifecycle service offerings (including ADVANT/INFI90 and 800xA modernization solutions).
  • Build and manage long-term customer relationships, resolve issues effectively, and align solutions to evolving customer needs.
  • Monitor sales performance against targets, anticipate shortfalls, and implement corrective actions to secure sustainable business growth.
  • Participate in and support negotiation of key contracts, ensuring alignment with ABB commercial terms, guidelines, and policies.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with technical, service, and sales teams, promoting knowledge sharing and coordinated pursuit of opportunities across teams and geographies.
  • Ensure full compliance with ABB’s Code of Conduct, HSE requirements, statutory regulations, and uphold ABB’s core values, safety, integrity, and ethical standards in all activities.

Qualifications for the Role

  • Proven experience in automation sales, particularly with ABB control systems (e.g., ADVANT/INFI90, 800xA), including modernization and lifecycle service offerings.
  • Strong understanding of the Oil & Gas segment, with the ability to implement and execute segment-specific sales strategies.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and grow long-term customer relationships, resolve issues, and align solutions to customer needs.
  • Track record of achieving sales targets, including lead generation, opportunity development, risk management, and proposal submission.
  • Familiarity with ABB’s tools, guidelines, and policies, and commitment to upholding ABB’s core values, safety, compliance, and ethical standards.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills, with experience participating in and leading contract negotiations.
  • Ability to collaborate cross-functionally with technical, service, and sales teams and share knowledge across teams and geographies.
  • Understanding of Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) principles and ability to apply them in daily operations and customer interactions.
