Next Generation have been appointed to recruit for a Technical Estimator to work for a well-established manufacturing business who specialise in the manufacture of precision machined components. As the Technical Estimator you will be responsible for assisting internal customers with the estimation of special enquiries.
Job Details
- Job Type: Permanent
- Salary: up to £50,000 p.a. (DOE)
- Working Hours: Monday to Friday 8am – 4.30pm
- Other Benefits: 32 days holiday (including Bank holidays); Death in service; Entry into the company pension scheme
Duties
- Estimating and processing incoming enquiries.
- Liaising with suppliers for prices.
- Working accurately with dimensions from technical drawings.
- Reading specifications and working out relevant information.
- Liaising with the production team to establish the best methods to manufacture.
- Re-cost work carried out.
- Implement and record any process changes.
- Check pricing is up to date on recurring jobs using costing forms.
- Liaising with sales executives and outside suppliers on technical data and prices.
Qualifications / Experience (Essential)
- Engineering/Production Experience
- Previous experience costing / estimating
- Previous experience working with turned parts or a machining environment
- Previous Experience Working Within a Precision Manufacturing
