Due to continued growth, Next Generation is recruiting for a Mechanical Fitter to work with a well-established engineering company near Tyseley. The Mechanical Fitter will be responsible for providing critical theoretical and technical knowledge while implementing innovative improvements in complex and unpredictable situations.
Shift Pattern for the Mechanical Fitter:
- Week one: 6:00am - 14:00pm
- Week two: 14:00pm - 22:00pm

Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct diagnostic investigations
- Maintain and repair plant machinery and ancillary equipment safely to maximize availability at optimum cost
- Adhere to preventative maintenance programmes to minimize unplanned downtime
- Define critical spares for budget control
- Lead improvement projects for sustained solutions
- Perform Root Cause Analysis to implement permanent corrective actions
- Support engineering/projects with buy-off processes and new part introductions, highlighting snagging and influencing improvements
Candidate Requirements:
- 3-5 years experience as a Multi Skilled Engineer (Essential)
- 16th, 17th, or 18th edition certification (Desirable)
- Experience with maintenance on various presses (Desirable)
- Experience with Siemens S7 (Desirable)
- Fanuc / ABB qualification or equivalent
