At the moment we have an urgent opening for Application Packager for a Contract position based at Crawley, England.
Job Description:
- Role: Application Packager
- Location: Crawley, England
- Job type: Contract (3 Months)
- Client: NIIT Technologies
Responsibilities:
- Works closely with the DSM and Infrastructure Lead to deliver all packaging requirements
- Write detailed documentation and technical guides for the system including designs
- Package and deploy enterprise applications
- Troubleshoot technical issues in the determination of 'Root Cause' to implement resolutions
- Communicate at a technical level with other in-house teams (Storage, Networks, VMware) and 3rd party vendors (proactive and reactive)
- Remotely adding applications to the Client's standard desktops/laptops by packaging them in either AppV, THIN APP or MSI format and deploying in SCCM 2007, 2012
Requirements:
- Proven advanced knowledge of sequencing of applications using AppV (preferably v5.1)
- Proven knowledge of MSI Packaging using Install Shield and AdminStudio
- Proven advanced knowledge of scripting with Power Shell
- Proven advanced knowledge and working experience of SCCM 2007/2012, especially for application deployment
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft operating systems and related architectures (both 32-bit and 64-bit)
Qualifications and Experience:
- Demonstrable experience of AppV and MSI packaging
- Excellent working knowledge of Windows 7, Server 2008, 2012
- Group Policy experience and how it can control applications
- Experience of using programming tools such as Powershell and VB Scripting
- Deployment using AppV Full Infrastructure
- Familiar with Active Directory and Group Policy
- Knowledge of Microsoft User Environment Virtualisation
