To provide high quality legal advice and support services to our clients in the Private Client department. To assist the firm in achieving its stated professional and commercial objectives.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have a strong Private Client background and be STEP qualified or working towards this, with the ability to work well both in a team and independently. We are looking for someone who is passionate, proactive, and detail-oriented—relishing new challenges, driving innovation at the organization, and helping us uphold the level of excellence that we are known for.

Key Responsibilities

  • Advising clients on legal issues, including in particular the preparation of Wills and Powers of Attorney and matters of succession including inheritance tax and legal rights;
  • Operating independently to manage your own caseload, with particular regard to the timely completion of work and with awareness of key dates and deadlines;
  • To develop and maintain good working knowledge of the administration of executry estates;
  • To develop and maintain good working knowledge of the use and administration of trusts including charities;
  • To develop and maintain good working knowledge of the procedures under the Adults with Incapacity regime, including in particular applications for welfare and financial guardianship;
  • Draft, review, and manage legal documentation;
  • Conduct legal research and investigate the facts of each case;
  • Liaise with clients and relevant parties;
  • Delegate work to junior and trainee solicitors, paralegals and legal secretaries as appropriate, while still providing suitable guidance and supervision towards the completion of that work.
