You’re at your best when complexity meets opportunity. When technical excellence, commercial rigour and people skills all need to come together — and you’re the one who brings clarity, confidence and momentum. You enjoy being close to the action, working alongside engineers, clients and partners. Asking the right questions, protecting value, and helping ambitious projects land successfully. You don’t just manage numbers and programmes — you shape outcomes. At Black & White Engineering, this is exactly the kind of impact you’ll make.
What’s in It For You
- Autonomy and Impact – this role comes with real responsibility and the space to lead. You won’t be boxed into a narrow remit or asked to simply “keep the wheels turning”. Instead, you’ll be encouraged to take ownership of high‑profile data centre and mission‑critical projects, apply your judgement, and influence how commercial and project management excellence shows up across our work.
- Collaboration and influence – You’ll work alongside highly skilled engineers and project leaders who value collaboration and straight‑talking. Here, commercial insight is not an add‑on — it’s a critical part of delivering quality outcomes for our clients. Your voice will carry weight, and your ability to balance detail with the bigger picture will be recognised.
- Real Personal and Professional Development – You’ll be supported to develop your capability, broaden your exposure across clients and geographies, and shape your own progression path within a growing global consultancy. Whether that means deepening your technical commercial expertise or stepping into broader leadership, the opportunity is there.
- Inclusive, supportive and human environment – We believe people do their best work when they feel respected, listened to and empowered. That means flexible thinking, shared accountability, and a genuine commitment to wellbeing — alongside high standards and ambition.
Above all, you can expect your work to matter. The projects you support are complex, high‑profile and mission‑critical. The decisions you make will influence outcomes that last long beyond handover — for our clients, our teams, and your own professional journey.
Key Skills and How You’ll Make An Impact
Your expertise will sit at the heart of project success. In this role, you will:
- Bridge engineering and commercial delivery - Bringing commercial insight and financial discipline to multi‑disciplinary design teams across mechanical, electrical, structural, civil and controls engineering.
- Protect and enhance project performance - Owning project P&L, managing margins, cash flow, variations and risk, while keeping programmes on track.
- Lead with confidence and credibility - Acting as a trusted partner to clients, subconsultants and internal stakeholders, navigating complex conversations with clarity and professionalism.
- Drive structure and improvement - Establishing and refining commercial and project management processes that support consistent, high‑quality delivery.
- Support sustainable growth - Identifying opportunities for organic project growth while maintaining contractual and commercial integrity.
Your background in commercial and/or project management within an engineering or consultancy environment will allow you to make an immediate and lasting difference. You will be joining a community that focuses on learning and development through regular lunch and learn sessions, investment in accredited professional courses or educational programmes. You can set the pace for your professional development, and whatever path you choose, you will receive relevant support.
