At Black & White Engineering, we’re redefining the future of mission-critical infrastructure. We’re seeking a Principal Electrical Engineer to join our growing MEP team and lead the design and delivery of high-performance electrical systems for hyperscale and colocation data centres across Europe. This is a senior role that blends technical leadership, client engagement, and strategic thinking, offering the opportunity to shape the digital backbone of modern society.
You’ll be responsible for managing complex electrical design projects from concept through to completion, ensuring resilience, efficiency, and compliance with international standards. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you’ll collaborate with clients, architects, and other engineering disciplines to deliver integrated solutions that meet demanding performance and sustainability goals.
We’re looking for someone with a strong foundation in electrical building services engineering, ideally with experience in mission-critical environments such as data centres, healthcare, or high-tech manufacturing. You’ll have a deep understanding of LV/HV distribution systems, UPS, standby generation, lighting, and fire alarm systems, and be confident using tools like AutoCAD, Revit, Amtech, ETAP, and Dialux.
You’ll also be comfortable compiling specifications and contract documents, managing budgets, and ensuring that projects are delivered on time and within scope. As a natural communicator and team-builder, you’ll support and mentor junior engineers, contribute to resource planning, and represent the electrical discipline in client meetings and external forums.
You’ll be expected to stay up to date with technical developments, standards, and legislation, and to contribute to the growth of the business by identifying new opportunities and strengthening existing relationships. If you’re ready to make a lasting impact in a fast-paced, forward-thinking environment, we’d love to hear from you.
