Black & White Engineering (B&W) is a leading MEP design consultancy. Launched in the UAE in 2007, we became an independent company in 2014 and are now a true global consultancy with offices in Europe, Middle East, Asia, and Australia. Our engineering expertise reaches across all sectors of the construction industry, providing pragmatic and practical design solutions to ensure our projects are spatially and operationally efficient. Our design process fully considers the installation and maintenance practicalities on site.
Due to the continued expansion of our London team, we are looking to recruit an Electrical Associate Director to lead a diverse and multi-disciplinary team on technically-challenging projects. This role will be responsible for managing projects to deliver an excellent service to clients and assisting on the ongoing development and growth of the business as a whole, whilst providing sound technical, design, and contract management support. This role will report to the London-based office lead.
We’re looking for an experienced leader to take overall accountability for the performance of the electrical function as part of the wider management team.
Responsibilities- Promotes learning from successes and problems within the group and across the business
- Develops and implements plans for the longer-term benefit of the office
- Assists with the recruitment, appraisal, performance, work, development, morale, and motivation of the team
- Provides robust directional and honest feedback to staff
- Organises training needs for teams
- Oversees the financial performance including ensuring healthy profit and cash flow
- Procures work and negotiates significant contracts and agreements with customers and suppliers
- CEng (or equivalent) with an appropriate professional body
- Recognised as an expert within the industry in the region
- Experience in leading successful and dynamic teams
- Desirable experience in managing large-scale, technical projects
- Experience in dealing with complex escalated problems on behalf of multi-disciplinary teams
- Behaviours which demonstrate integrity, straight-talking, respectful, and fairness
- Experience in promoting and enforcing a culture of respect and inclusion of all in the business
- Strong critical engineering technical experience within the data centre sector is preferred
