As Black & White Engineering continues to expand its specialist data‑centre acoustics team, we are seeking a dedicated Acoustic Engineer or Graduate Acoustic Engineer to support projects across the UK, Europe, and worldwide. This role offers genuine autonomy, early technical responsibility, and the opportunity to influence noise‑critical design decisions on some of the most advanced digital‑infrastructure developments globally.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Acoustics, Engineering, Physics, or a related discipline
  • Experience or strong academic grounding in environmental acoustics
  • Familiarity with ISO 9613‑2 noise modelling methodologies
  • Experience with acoustic modelling software such as CadnaA, SoundPLAN, INSUL, or similar
  • Understanding of international noise standards and regulatory frameworks
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills, including technical reporting

Desirable / Advantageous

  • Experience with GIS platforms (e.g. ArcGIS, QGIS) for spatial analysis and environmental assessment
  • Knowledge of relevant British Standards
  • Hands‑on experience with on‑site acoustic measurements, particularly supporting UK commissioning and compliance activities
