About The Role
Black & White Engineering (B&W) is a leading MEP design consultancy. Launched in the UAE in 2007, we became an independent company in 2014 and are now a true global consultancy with offices in Europe, Middle East, Asia, and Australia. Our engineering expertise covers all sectors of the construction industry, providing pragmatic and practical design solutions that ensure spatial and operational efficiency. Our design process fully considers the installation and maintenance practicalities on site. The company is looking to recruit a Senior Electrical Engineer, ideally with data centre experience, to work as part of a team on technically‑challenging projects. This role will significantly contribute to projects to deliver excellent service levels to clients and assist in the ongoing development and growth of the business, whilst providing sound technical, design and contract management support.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to the team to ensure successful preparation and delivery of project objectives, including providing technical support.
- Work with other senior engineers and junior positions to ensure quality and timely delivery for clients.
- Compile specifications, drawings and relevant contract documents, maintaining required technical quality and ensuring designs comply with codes, standards, regulations and procedures.
- Deliver elements and components of projects from concept design through to completion, executing Building Services Engineering activities within budget and schedule, whilst maintaining technical integrity.
- Provide Electrical Building Services Engineering design for buildings and infrastructure.
- Identify scope and scheduling changes in accordance with the change control process, maintaining planning and cost control on all scope.
Qualifications
- A relevant degree in Electrical Building Services Engineering, or equivalent qualification or sufficient suitable experience.
- Extensive experience in a wide range of technical areas.
- Sound level of knowledge at senior engineer level and experience managing a team.
- Desirable experience in data centre projects.
- Appreciation of complementary specialisms such as acoustics, fire engineering and computer modelling in building design.
- Associate or student member of an appropriate professional body such as CIBSE, IET.
- Achieved or working towards Chartered Engineer status.
- Technical electrical knowledge and thorough understanding of Building Services Engineering and interdisciplinary design through all stages of the design process.
- Results‑oriented approach with strong problem‑solving, technical realisation and coordination skills.
- Excellent interpersonal communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written.
- Computer literacy including AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks, Amtech, Dialux and Microsoft Office.
- Current UK driving licence.
