Our engineering expertise spans all sectors of the construction industry, providing pragmatic and practical design solutions to ensure our projects are spatially and operationally efficient. The design process fully considers installation and maintenance practicalities on site.
Responsibilities
- Acts as the BIM lead for Edinburgh projects
- Ensures appropriate project BIM standards and procedures are established and maintained in accordance with PAS/ISO standards, project group standards, and best practices
- Delivers, assists, and implements BIM execution plans, and ensures all protocols are followed by all project staff
- Establishes and sets up new project models in accordance with project standards
- Supports the BIM team in providing Revit training
- Collaborates with senior staff to assist on defining deliverables schedules
- Assists on the development and maintenance of MEP content libraries
- Models a range of services including, but limited to, mechanical pipework, ventilation, lighting, power, containment, and drainage
- Coordinates services using Revit and Navisworks
- Audits compliance with BIM standards and procedures
- Collates and assesses projects with BIM procedures, making recommendations for use on further projects
- Conducts reviews of existing projects, providing recommendations to the project team, and establishing and maintaining best practice procedures and collaboration
- Manages the delivery of own projects and supports other project teams/offices with modelling and reviews
- Configures and administers common data environments (BIM 360 Collaboration)
- Identifies, supports, and maximises the efficiency of the project team through the use of information technology tools and methods
- Supports large or complex projects by acting as the Information Manager
- Develops and engages with the wider Black & White BIM community to ensure effective workflow processes, continual improvement efficiencies, and skill development
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years' relevant experience in MEP Building Information Management on a variety of design and construction projects, including use of PAS/ISO suite of standards
- Extensive knowledge of MEP or multi-discipline coordination
- Advanced user knowledge of the production of Revit MEP models
- Sound knowledge and experience in producing and implementing BIM execution plans
- Experience in the implementation of COBie
- Advanced user knowledge of Navisworks Manage, and ability to conduct visual audits and clash detection reports
- Extensive knowledge of a variety of BIM tools; Autodesk REVIT, Navisworks, and BIM 360
- Desirable experience in information management, records management of document control
- Client‐focused mindset with exceptional relationship management experience
- Results‐oriented approach with proficient reporting skills, both to management and clients
- Excellent interpersonal communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written
- Strong stakeholder engagement, influencing skills, and ability to resolve conflict
