Job Summary
Black & Veatch is a global leader in advanced and conventional power generation technologies, with open and combined cycle gas turbine (OCGT/CCGT), co-generation / Combined Heat & Power (CHP) and Waste-to-Energy (WtE) all key elements of our technical design expertise and project delivery capabilities. We are seeking a Senior Project Manager to join our Advanced Power Generation solution. As Project Manager you’ll ensure successful delivery of Engineering Design (Services), Owners Engineer and Engineering, Procurement, and Construction/Management (EPC/M) projects across our EMEA region, with active projects in the UK & Europe and ongoing campaigns in the Middle East and African markets. This role is based in our Glasgow, UK office with frequent travel to project sites, client, or other B&V offices. We work a hybrid schedule of 3 days in the office/on site, 2 days remote working from home per week, during larger construction projects, you may be based on the project site.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage all aspects of multiple ‘Service’, Owner’s Engineer, or small to medium EPC/M projects concurrently.
- Delivering the full scope of responsibilities including performance, financial metrics, planning, schedule, quality, contractual compliance, safety, and client satisfaction.
- Successfully deliver resource management of the project(s), able to lead medium to large teams of multi-discipline professionals.
- Client facing, able to deliver engineering, procurement, construction, and startup elements of the project, including managing the activities of all third-party / subcontract companies.
- Additionally, support proposals and business development activities.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent experience.
- A recognised safety qualification (NEBOSH, IOSH, CCNSG).
- Full professional fluency in written and spoken English.
- Proven project management experience, executing large/complex engineering and construction projects.
- Technically capable of delivering Front End Engineering Design (FEED) and pre-FEED contracts.
- Background in power generation, WtE, petrochemical refinery or major turnaround project delivery.
- Commercially astute, able to negotiate, interpret and deliver standard form contracts.
- Proficient using Microsoft Applications and role related IT systems.
