Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure CDM Principal Designers and Designers roles and responsibilities are fulfilled in accordance with CDM 2015 Regulations.
- Support Black & Veatch in fulfilling the duties of the Principal Designer as defined under CDM 2015, including, where necessary, carrying out the role of CDM Advisor to support the client.
- Support Black & Veatch in fulfilling PSDP role on the projects in Ireland when required.
- Liaise with CDM Principal Designers, Clients and Designers to share any information relevant to planning, management, monitoring and coordination of the design, construction and commissioning phases of the project.
- Plan, manage, monitor and coordinate health and safety in the pre‑construction phase, taking account of relevant information (such as an existing health and safety file) that might affect design work carried out both before and after the construction phase has started.
- Help and advise the client in bringing together pre‑construction information, and provide the information designers and contractors need to carry out their duties.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Several years’ experience in the construction industry with experience of CDM/Health and Safety issues in construction.
- Excellent working knowledge and understanding of CDM 2015 and appropriate safety legislation in UK and Republic of Ireland.
- Demonstrable previous experience in successfully delivering the Principal Designer and CDM Advisor roles on energy or industrial large scale projects.
- NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent and NEBOSH Construction Certificate.
- Incorporated member of the Association for Project Safety (IMaPs).
- Full and clean driver’s license.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced ability to interpret engineering deliverable content as assigned.
- Intermediate industry knowledge and technology trends.
- Intermediate knowledge of construction & constructability practices & principles.
- Intermediate knowledge of procurement & contract administration.
- Working knowledge of process, procedures for project controls and estimating.
- Project Supervisor Design Process (PSDP) qualifications.
- Chartered Member of IOSH (CMIOSH), or working towards.
