Compensation / Salary - £65,000 to £80,000 (max) base salary plus benefits and bonus (discretionary bonus 25% to 50% based on fund performance)

Working Model – 4:1 days in office (1 day WFH - working directly with the PMs and business)

My client, a leading Private Credit hedge fund based in London, is looking to hire a Private Credit Fund Accountant to support its growing Private Credit and Distressed Banking Loans business. This is an excellent opportunity for a Qualified Accountant to join a high-performing Private Credit and Distressed Banking Loans investment environment with exposure to complex distressed bank loans, private credit strategies, including direct lending, structured bank loans, credit, and special situations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the end-to-end Private Credit accounting and reporting for private credit funds and related vehicles.
  • Prepare and review NAV calculations, investor capital statements, and financial statements.
  • Tax expertise and experience covering K-1 schedules / PFIC (Passive Foreign Investment Company) tax reporting for US entities.
  • Manage fund cash, including capital calls, distributions, and reconciliations.
  • Liaise with fund administrators, auditors, custodians, and internal stakeholders.
  • Support deal lifecycle accounting, including investment bookings, valuations, and exits.
  • Assist with regulatory reporting and compliance requirements.
  • Contribute to process improvements and system enhancements – champion process automation, leveraging new technologies such as Power BI, Python, and Tableau.

Requirements

  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or equivalent).
  • 5-10 years of experience in Private Credit Fund Accounting, ideally with exposure to private credit, debt funds, or hedge funds.
  • Strong understanding of Tax - K-1 schedules / PFIC (Passive Foreign Investment Company) tax reporting for US entities.
  • Prior Systems Coverage PMS / OMS namely - Enfusion, Broadridge, Front Arena will be advantageous.
  • Financial instruments, loan structures, and valuation principles.
  • Experience working with fund administrators and external auditors.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Proficiency in Excel; experience with fund accounting systems is advantageous.

Compensation - Salary - £65,000 to £80,000 (max) base salary plus benefits and bonus (discretionary bonus 25% to 50% based on fund performance).

Working Model – in office, 4:1 days in the office supporting the PMs and business directly and building infrastructure.
