Overview
We are looking for a motivated and high-performing professional to join our team as a Finance Lead. This position will oversee Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Payroll & Expense processing, while also supporting with month-end management accounting and reporting. This role would suit a proactive individual with a solid grasp of accounting processes, who is eager to take responsibility for a core part of the finance function in an exciting scale-up business. Role responsibilities
- Line Management: Manage, coach, and develop two direct reports (Finance Coordinators), who are focused on Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
- Accounts Payable: Accurately review and process supplier invoices, reconcile supplier statements and oversee all payment processing
- Accounts Receivable: Oversee the raising of all franchise invoices accurately and on-time, ensuring timely collections and reconciliation of receipts
- Payroll: Lead the preparation of monthly payroll for both Head Office and Stores, working with our dedicated payroll provider and our internal Operations and People teams
- Vendor & Customer Relations: Proactively engage with suppliers to respond to queries and resolve reconciliation discrepancies, fostering clear communication and strong relationships
- Deliver Insightful Reporting & Analysis: Prepare weekly and monthly reports for business leaders that provide key insights to support informed decision-making
- Financial Reconciliation: Assist in reconciling bank transactions and general ledger accounts to maintain up-to-date and accurate financial records
- Expense Analysis: Support employee expense processing and help identify trends or areas for improvement in reporting, compliance, and efficiencies
- Process Improvement: Collaborate with the finance team and the wider company to unlock efficiencies and recommend solutions to improve finance processes and tools, such as project managing the implementation of a new travel and expenses solution
Qualifications
- Previous experience working in a finance department, with experience in a multi-site retail environment preferred but not essential
- Proficiency in using accounting software, ideally Oracle Netsuite
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- High attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in data and reporting
- Keen interest in solving problems and optimizing processes
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- A proactive, team-oriented mindset with a willingness to learn and take initiative
