The Data Stewardship Team is responsible for ensuring the data needs of BlackRock and the clients of BlackRock Solutions are fulfilled with accurate, complete, and timely data.
As an Associate on the Data Steward Team, you will support a growing area in a dynamic and challenging environment. The Fund Data Stewardship Team was established to develop the firmwide fund data ingestion and distribution strategy and operational support models to meet the long-term fund data needs for existing and newly created fund products and services. The team will focus on oversight, quality control, and governance of product and firm-level fund data being distributed and ingested by third parties. This will also include cross‑functional evolution of systematic changes required to improve the Aladdin fund data distribution and ingestion model and process.
This position requires active stakeholder management with internal and external parties, as well as working cross‑functionally to architect and deliver a Fund Data distribution vision for the Fund Data Stewards Team. The candidate will be required to advocate the use of technology and artificial intelligence to craft innovative solutions that assist the global Tech & Ops team to evolve the Fund Data Stewards strategy and operations of the firm. Ability to collaborate, influence, and guide insertion of new processes into existing workflows across disparate teams is important for success in this role.
Responsibilities- Design data engineering solutions to drive scale and automation for establishing governance and oversight on firm and third‑party Fund Data (iShares, Mutual Funds, third‑party funds, SMAs/Models, etc.).
- Strengthen relationships to gain business insight and proactively identify Fund Data needs.
- Establish what is standard versus non‑standard processes, ensuring this is understood by stakeholders and bringing together the appropriate expertise across the firm to attain this goal.
- Demonstrate knowledge of investments, clients, and operational processes to partner with data and operations specialists to develop sustainable solutions for stakeholders.
- Resolve internal and external product and data queries in line with agreed service level agreements (SLAs).
- Manage daily, weekly, and quarterly data distribution workflows, ensuring adherence to defined schedules and controls.
- Partner with stakeholders to support product onboarding and manage data‑related changes across the distribution lifecycle.
- 5+ years of financial services experience desired.
- Degree in Finance, Economics, or related field is preferred.
- Advanced skills in Excel and Word; knowledge of Aladdin, Power BI, Tableau, and Miro is a plus.
- Base knowledge of technical tools such as SQL, Python, or Unix is advantageous.
- Strong organization and problem‑solving skills.
- Consistent track record in delivering on major projects with little oversight.
- Strong financial and quantitative abilities, including attention to detail and affinity for data analysis.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Sound judgment, integrity and discretion.
